Software, license and general equipment records

iInventory stores four distinct record types in its database to help you manage your computer inventory:

Computer records contain hardware and software data for workstations and servers. This record type can be manually entered but is more often collected quickly and easily using inventory agents. Manual records can be updated automatically and vice versa.

Software license records are used to store details of the paper licenses you own for easy comparison with detected software. Standard reports tell you if you are over- or under-licensed.

Software dictionary records hold details on file signatures for software applications. You can add applications to the base dictionary which includes more than 80,000 entries.

General equipment records provide space to store manual data for items which cannot be automatically audited, such as desks, fax machines etc.

User questionnaire

When an audit runs you may choose to display a User Questionnaire. This can either request or force the user to enter information that cannot be obtained automatically from the machine, such as its physical location (i.e. Which department are you in?).

This powerful feature is simple and user-friendly for staff but can easily collect a large volume of inventory data for the administrator. The User Questionnaire is fully customizable.

Registry key finder

Easily detect registry key values on your target computers remotely from your desktop.
