Uses MS Access, MSDE or SQL Server (inc. 2005 & Express)
iInventory stores your audit information in a Microsoft Access, SQL Server*, or MSDE** database. This open design with these flexible products provides multiple benefits:
- You can open your databases directly in Access or SQL Server rather than the iInventory console, providing powerful alternative connectivity, reporting and query features (the free MSDE product has no user interface)
- Connect or export audit data from the iInventory audit database to others of your own design for information consolidation or data sharing
- Databases can be easily shared via the internet/intranet
- Allows audit data to be shared with or reported on by users with different requirements. Each type of user can have different reports tailored to their needs
- Audit databases can be stored & accessed without iInventory
- Allows audit data to be shared with asset management, help desk and network management systems or connected to applications such as Crystal Reports
* requires SQL Server license, not included with iInventory
** free light version of Microsoft SQL Server, no license required
